Four-Year Course Planning Guide
Incoming freshmen entering the University of Michigan in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts must meet the following requirements.* The University of Michigan supports the completion of not only the State required subjects but also the recommended courses to help provide strong preparation for acquiring academic skills and knowledge to compete successfully in a rigorous academic environment.

*Other U-M Schools and Colleges, such as the College of Engineering, have different requirements but expect the same type of rigorousacademic preparation. Please see the admission requirements for further information.
In addition, consider working on a major research paper. Studies show that students who complete such a paper are better prepared for collegiate level work and less likely to need remedial writing instruction.
