Group Visit Form

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions welcomes large groups of 15 or more students to visit campus Tuesday through Thursday, with sessions beginning at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  We are committed to providing informative and personalized tours, and to do so, we must limit the number of large groups each day.

To plan for a successful visit, we require that you register your group at least 20 days in advance.

Please consider the following questions before submitting a tour request.

  1. Does your group have transportation to the University of Michigan?
  2. Will your bus be with your group for the duration of the visit?
  3. What is the main purpose of your visit to the University of Michigan?
  4. How much time will you be spending on campus?
  5. Are potential fees an issue for your group?
  6. Have you allotted enough time for travel to and from campus, including possible construction?
  7. Does your group have any special needs?

If you have any questions, please contact the Huetwell Visitors Center at 734.647.5692. We can also be reached via email at ouaspecialvisits@umich.edu.

Visitation Program Request
Please check all that you would like to participate in while visiting the University of Michigan.

The University of Michigan Office of Undergraduate Admissions is committed to providing access to the University’s campus for groups interested in learning more about the University.  We provide a campus visitation program for students, grades 8-12.  Information sessions and campus tours are organized with the prospective college student in mind, and are not intended for general school field trip purposes. Due to the large number of visitors we already receive, as well as a full recruitment calendar, our office is unable to accommodate group visits in April and November.

All groups interested in scheduling a visit must register online using this form.  After a completed form is submitted, a staff member from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will confirm your visit with a formal visitation confirmation and agreement.  No visit request is confirmed until the visitation agreement is signed by the group contact and returned to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Our expectations are as follows:

Chaperones must contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions if they foresee being late for their visit.  Late-arriving groups may not be able to participate in all scheduled activities.

Visiting groups will be accompanied by adult chaperones/teachers/sponsors at all times.  We require one chaperone for every 10 students for middle school groups and one chaperone for every 15 students for high school groups.  The ultimate responsibility for each group rests with these designated adults, not the University of Michigan.

Visiting students are expected to conduct themselves as respectful visitors to the campus.

Any person who engages in violence while on University owned or controlled property, or while engaged in official University business, may be removed and/or barred from the premises pending the outcome of an investigation.  Violent behavior includes any behavior, whether intentional or reckless, which results in bodily injury to another person and/or damage to property.

Groups are not permitted to use any electronic devices during a campus information session or tour (e.g., cell phones, iPods, et cetera).

By submitting, I am stating that I understand and agree with the conditions and expectations explained above and accept responsibility for my group’s visit to the University of Michigan.
