Early Action Decisions
Early Action decisions will be released by no later than December 24.
ALL admissions decisions will be sent via email from Michigan Admissions <UA-Admissions@umich.edu> with the subject line “Your University of Michigan Admissions Decision”. Please add this email address to your safe list so that your decision does not go to your junk or spam folder. Decisions will be released to the email address you provided on your application. Students who have been admitted will also receive paper correspondence as well.
There are three possible decisions a student may receive: admit, defer, deny. Admit and deny are final decisions and will be viewable on a link labeled “View Decision” on the application status link. Defer means your application requires additional consideration. Because defer is not a final decision, it will not appear on the application status link.

We recognize that students eagerly anticipate the release of their decision and would like to know as soon as possible. As we continue to receive record numbers of applications, we are unfortunately unable to admit all well qualified applicants. In case we are unable to provide a positive decision on your application, we encourage you to plan ahead to review your email decision at home outside of school hours.
We appreciate your patience as we prepare to release admissions decisions for students who qualified for Early Action. We are unfortunately unable to give decisions over the phone; therefore it will be your responsibility to monitor your email account for your decision. We will post notification on our website when all Early Action decisions have been released.
