So here is my confession, when I began the whole college process I wanted to go to a small school in the south. Sounds nothing like Michigan, right? Right. If there is one thing that I understand it is how overwhelming and confusing the college process can be. I went on all the campus tours, I filled out all the applications, and still could not decide what was right for me. However, when it came time to make a decision, I could not seem to turn my back on the University of Michigan.
Ann Arbor is simply amazing. With excellent academics and a fun social scene this school is a perfect combination for all types of people. Every semester I fall more in love with this place. What is so exciting about a school like this is the tremendous amount of opportunity. There is literally something for EVERYONE. Just check out the Diag and you will understand. Since my freshman year I've found programs that have taken me to Europe, the Middle East and South America along with some of my classmates. One of the things that upsets me the most is that I don't have the time to do everything that interests me here. From the Greek system to the intramural sports and classes, another couple of hours would be a welcome addition to each day
Congratulations on your acceptance and I hope you start to love this school like I do. Some of the most amazing times of your life are just ahead. GO BLUE
Sam Kim
Alamo, California
Senior, Stephen M. Ross School of Business; College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Business Administration; English
Hi everyone!
I'm a senior dual-enrolled at the Ross School of Business and the College of Literature, Science and the Arts. I'm doubling in Business and English with a Minor in Music. It only took me three years to decide on my concentrations, but those years have been an incredible journey for me.
However, there are only so many who decide to focus all their attention to academics. U-M is so great because it expands your horizon in the most unexpected areas. It's the professors, your peers, the guitar instructor, the restaurants, and the lifestyle (partially the fact that you're liberated from home) that gets you interested in many different things. Right now, cooking is my "new thing," proceeding ballroom dancing, rock climbing, art history, singing, and many more. You learn so much in this sweet, little Ann Arbor community, as it packs quite a punch.
There's a time and place for everything, and with that in mind, just imagine yourself here as a student when you visit for Campus Day. The next few years of your college life will never be forgotten, and choosing a school will be one of the most important decisions in your life. I know. I applied to 24 schools. For me, this is exactly where I want to be for my remaining time of study, with my amazing friends, the never-ending opportunities, unparalleled education, and the roar of the 108,000 fans in the Big House.
But more importantly, I hope you discover many qualities at U-M that suit your style, and not long from now, you'll join us in singing the Victors on Saturday afternoons!
Robyn Odzark
Algonac, Michigan
Senior, School of Kinesiology
Movement Science
First of all I want to congratulate you on all your hard work. You should be proud of yourself; it takes a lot of dedication to get to this point
My name is Robyn and I'm a senior in the School of Kinesiology. I am from Algonac, Michigan, which is a small town right on Lake St. Clair
Coming from such a small high school I was very nervous about the transition to a large university. However, I soon realized how easy it would be to make a large university like Michigan seem much smaller.
From mentorship and tutoring, to research and playing intramural sports; I have been able to find my place within the University of Michigan. I am continually amazed at how easy it is to make this college personal. I truly feel "home" when I walk around on campus and am very honored to be able to call myself a wolverine
I LOVE Michigan! The opportunities here are endless! Whatever background or interests you come in with, you will find something here that fits you. I can't wait to meet you and answer and questions you have about Michigan! Again, congratulations and GO BLUE!
Drew Beckeman

Junior, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Communication Studies
Hello all and congratulations on coming this far with the University of Michigan: the BEST college in the country!
My name is Drew Beckeman and I am currently studying Communications in the school of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Attending The University of Michigan has been my dream since I was young and I made it here through hard work and dedication, which I am sure you all know about. I came from a smaller high school in Muskegon County located about three hours northwest of Ann Arbor. Transitioning from such a small school to such a large one, I was worried that I would never find my niche. However, after joining a fraternity, getting involved with various clubs, and playing intramural sports, I found myself in the place I wanted to be.
As most of you know, Michigan has the title of being a difficult university. Staying up with your work may be a hard task, but following the proper steps (meeting with GSIs and study groups) can lead you to success. Finding your place in a large school like Michigan is not hard if you're willing to make it happen. Through the steps I've taken, I've had two incredible years here and look forward to the years to come.
Again, I would like to congratulate you for the hard work and dedication you have already put forth. Welcome to Michigan and GO BLUE!

Junior, College of Engineering
Industrial and Operations Engineering
Hello prospective University of Michigan Students! Congratulations! My name is Mallory Brown and I am a junior in the College of Engineering, majoring in Industrial & Operations Engineering. I am so excited to be a Campus Day leader! I can definitely tell you that Campus Day can have a huge effect on your college decision. I had no intention of ever coming to the University of Michigan and had only applied to please my parents. That all changed after attending Campus Day and I fell in love with the University of Michigan academia and atmosphere.
I have been able to shape and mold this awesome university into exactly what I want it to be. A smaller school had always been more appealing to me; and because of the many activities the University of Michigan offers I have been able to make my world here as small as I want it to be. I am an active member of Phi Sigma Rho, an engineering sorority, as well as a member of the Engineering Honor Council, a student group that oversees the administration of the Honor Code. I can promise you that the University of Michigan has the potential to fit each and every one of you perfectly. I have met some of the most interesting and diverse people, and have made so many sincere friendships at this school. Deciding on the University of Michigan was one of the most important and best decisions of my life. I am so proud to be a Wolverine and you should be, too! Go Blue!
Lawrenceville, New Jersey
Sophomore, College of Literature, Science and the Arts
Afroamerican and African Studies
Hello all! First and foremost, I want to congratulate you on your acceptance to the University of Michigan. I consider the college application process a right of passage and I can confidently say that you should be extremely proud of yourselves. My name is Erica Buher and as much as I like to lay claim to the entire tri-state area, I am actually from Lawrenceville, New Jersey. I am also a sophomore in the College of Literature, Sciences and the Arts. After visiting Ann Arbor the spring of my senior year I knew that Michigan was not only one of the most prestigious public schools in the country, but more importantly, was the perfect fit for me.
My favorite part about Michigan is all the opportunities it offers both on campus and off. From volunteering in an impoverished community in Managua, Nicaragua to starting my own student organization, Michigan has provided me with experiences that I wouldn't be able to find at any other university. Only in Ann Arbor can you find an energized student body like ours, eager to both pack into the Big House on Saturday morning's and participate in intellectual student discussions. There is no typical student here at Michigan and I hope that you too will find your place as part of the maize and blue. Good luck with rest of your high school experience and remember that it will be great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

History
Hello prospective U-M student. First of all, congratulations on being accepted to the University of Michigan. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get into a great university such as this and you should be proud knowing that you are among the leaders and the best.
My name is Jacob Caplan. I am a sophomore currently majoring in History if the School of Literature, Science and the Arts; planning on transferring into the School of Education where I will major in History and minor in Physical Education. Coming from a high school that usually sends 20 to 40 people to U-M a year I was somewhat fearful that I would not be able to branch out and meet new people while in college. However, by getting involved in Greek life, intramural sports and other awesome clubs and groups on campus this fear quickly went away.
The University of Michigan is such a unique and diverse institution that it allows you to become whatever kind of person you want to be. It's easy to say that I love this place and am thankful everyday that I chose to attend here. I am looking forward to meeting you and to answering any questions or concerns you may have. Again, congratulations on being accepted and Go BLUE!

A big Maize and Blue welcome to the future leaders & best, and congratulations on your admittance to the University of Michigan!
My name is Jenna Clark and I'm currently a junior in the Business School, with a marketing concentration, also pursuing a minor in Linguistics through the College of Literature, Science and Arts.
Coming from a large high school outside of Chicago, (my graduating class had over 900 students!) I knew that I wanted to go to a university with a solid focus in athletics, arts, as well as academics. Michigan goes above and beyond in meeting my expectations with big 10 sports, the amazing arts scene of Ann Arbor, and an abundance of resources to help you succeed. I love going to a large university as you can always make a big school smaller by finding your niche.
With almost 1,000 student clubs and organizations you are bound to find something you like and people who share your interests. If the club of your dreams isn't on our campus, start one! Michigan embraces innovative leaders and wants for everyone to make the most out of their time here on campus. By attending Festifall and club mass meetings, you can get a taste for what each group has to offer. I love my job with Michigan Mentorship, and am currently the VP of Finance for College DECA. The opportunities are endless, and by taking the time to dabble with clubs and programs that even slightly interest you, you'll be meeting people and finding your place at the university before you know it! Get excited, and GO BLUE!!!

Congratulations on your acceptance into the most balanced school in the nation: the University of Michigan! I am sure that you realize your hard work has paid off thus far and Michigan can only open an unlimited amount of opportunities for your future. IT'S GREAT TO BE A MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!
My name is Adom M. Cooper and I am a senior in the college of Literature, Science, and the Arts, double-majoring in Political Science and Communications. I am from Cleveland, OH and while approximately 100 of my high school's graduating class chose to attend that school in Columbus, I am positive that I made the right choice. Michigan has such a wealth of diversity; you can find absolutely everything here. The strength of the academics, a plethora major and course choices, the research opportunities, countless extracurricular activities, and the success of our varsity sports all contribute to Michigan being the best place to get a college education.
Just to name some of my own activities, I am a member and social chair of Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, involved with the Michigan Pre-Law Society, and employed by the Department of Recreational Sports. As you can see, there are ENDLESS possibilities and if you cannot find an activity/club of your interest, you can start your own!
Once again, congratulations and GO BLUE!

Hey! My name is Mitch and I'm a sophomore in the Honors College within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. I'm originally from right outside Washington, DC, in Chevy Chase, MD. Congrats on getting in to Michigan... you should be really proud of that achievement!
I remember when I was applying to colleges; I had no idea where I wanted to go. I had a vague list but I didn't "love" any school. I stumbled upon Michigan almost by accident, and after reading about it, I started to think that it might be a good place for me. I didn't know until the spring that I would actually end up here, but I'm so glad I did! U-M is a fabulous place...we have something for everyone, awesome football games, a fantastic downtown, and a beautiful campus.
Michigan has so many clubs and organizations to get involved with; you'll definitely have plenty to do besides schoolwork! This year, I'm the president of my Residence Hall's Council and help plan events which build community in the Residence Hall. I'm also the co-chair of Ahava, Hillel's LGBT group and am in a really cool course where I get to be a facilitator for a dialogue about social identities. I also love all the lectures and opportunities Michigan has. In one week, I attended a lecture from a bee-farmer, a speech by an immigrant worker, a Global Awareness fair, a workshop on the social climate on campus, and a workshop about diversity. I have also enjoyed attending numerous musical and theater events. Michigan football is AMAZING. Congratulations again, and GO BLUE!
San Diego, California
Sophomore, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts
Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science
Hello prospective wolverines and congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Michigan! I can't wait to share with you everything that makes me love this University. Coming from San Diego, California, I was a little bit worried about attending such a large school so far from home. However, U-M provided me with endless opportunities to get involved and make this school my own. Now I am completely in love with my school and actually refer to it as "home" – just don't tell that to my mom and dad!
I am a sophomore in the School of Literature, Science and the Arts studying Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science. Already, my classes have been more exhilarating than I ever imagined. In my intro psych class, I got to participate in graduate student research experiments, and last semester, I even got to dissect a sheep's brain! Outside of the classroom, I compete for the Michigan Club Gymnastics team, play intramural soccer, am a team captain for the Dance Marathon, and am involved with several of the Dance Marathon committees. I also like to run though beautiful Nichols Arboretum in Fall, catch Shabbat dinner and services at Hillel, and of course, cheer on my favorite Wolverine sports teams. GO BLUE!!!!!!!

First off, I want to congratulate you on your acceptance to the University of Michigan! Michigan is truly a special place and a fantastic University.
I came to Michigan from a relatively small high school; there were about 150 people in my graduating class. Because of this, I knew that it would definitely be important to get involved on campus and to tailor the University to my personality. As a freshman, I applied to the Michigan Research Community, one of the living-learning programs on campus. This proved to be a great experience for me. In fact, I chose to stay with the program for three years. As a sophomore, I became a peer advisor for the Community and would even stay for my junior year, serving as a resident advisor.
Michigan also has some truly fantastic organizations on campus, and a lot of them! I would definitely suggest joining a club or organization during your time in Ann Arbor. During my freshman year, I sang with the University Choir and was a member of the Solar Car Team. I later joined the Michigan Men's Glee Club, which is the oldest student organization on campus, and the second oldest collegiate men's choir in the United States! This past year, I also acted in MUSKET's production of the musical, Parade. MUSKET is a student-run musical theatre troupe that presents two shows a year.
Michigan is an amazing University with many opportunities. I am certain that you will love this school as much as I do! I hope that you have a great Campus Day and that you will call the University of Michigan home for the next four years!
Go Blue!
Michelle Floyd

Senior, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts

There's something special about the University of Michigan that may as well be considered a legally addicting substance. From the students, to the athletics, to the academics, the University has established itself across the globe as being one of the most prestigious and loved institutions throughout history. My name is Michelle Floyd, I'm a senior in LSA and it was this sense of belonging, school spirit, and drive to success that led me to choose U-M as my place of higher education. Although friends back home considered me mildly insane for leaving a state filled with excellent universities, a drivable distance home, and the Pacific Ocean, I know how tough it is to even attempt the achievements of the University of Michigan. Thus far my academic career has been filled with inspiring professors, aMAIZEing friends, opportunities to see and hear presentations by the very same people whose material we read in class, and an overall sense of community that would be impossible to reproduce. While I can't imagine having to leave all of this behind, I look forward to joining the largest living alumni network in the nation, realizing all the while the opportunities afforded to me, simply because I was a part of this amazing place. I hope to see you at Campus Day where you might fall in love just as I did and GO BLUE!
River Forest, Illinois
Junior, Residential College
Arts and Ideas in the Humanities
Hello prospective students! My name is Robin and I'm so glad you're considering the University of Michigan. Our diverse campus has a niche for every type of student. As a junior in the Residential College, I have the best of all worlds. I enjoy working closely with peers and professors in my small RC classes and I have access to an infinite number of opportunities offered by the larger University. I have taken classes ranging from Ecology to Congolese Dance and I am pursing my varied interests by majoring in Humanities and minoring in Women's Health. Last year, I participated in the Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates which involved a course on intercultural immersion and a paid internship abroad! At U-M, anything is possible.
Ann Arbor provides a stimulating environment for college students. The city attracts international leaders like the Dalai Lama and world-renowned artists such as Yo-Yo Ma. There are always a million things happening on campus, but U-M students know how to balance their academic, extracurricular, and social lives. The people I've met here have inspired me inside and outside the classroom. No matter what you're searching for in college, U-M will help you find it. Congratulations on your achievements, and GO BLUE!

Hey everybody!
My name is Samantha Greenberg, and I'm from Midland, MI, which is about two hours north of Ann Arbor. First, congrats on being accepted to one of the best universities in this country. It's great to be a MICHIGAN WOLVERINE!
I wish I could say that I'd been looking at the University of Michigan since the day I was born, but secretly, I was planning on leaving the state and saying goodbye to my high school friends and every ounce of familiarity in my life. My parents insisted on me at least seeing what Campus Day was about, and in ten short minutes, one speaker changed my opinions, and in the long run, my life. As you visit this wonderful campus, I encourage you to take a look around at the sweatshirt factor. No matter what other colleges I visited, not one of them had as much school spirit as I saw floating around U-M on a random day in April. If while you're here, you can spot an Ohio State, Michigan State, or Notre Dame shirt, let me know, because I've yet to see one on this campus. The spirit here is overwhelming, and I left my first football game with such a rush of energy and pride to go to this university that since I've been here, I haven't regretted my decision once to stay in my home state.
At first, I thought the size of Michigan was a bit overwhelming, but after getting involved in South Quad Hall Council, Dance Marathon, Intramurals (both playing and officiating), and Campus Day, this University is truly my home (Just ask my parents how they feel when I refer to my dorm as home ☺). The size is also nice because like I wanted from an out-of-state university, I don't have to see my friends from home walking to and from class, although I can if I want to.
Being a freshman at any university can be a big transition, but there is plenty of help along the way. Welcome to Campus Day and I look forward to meeting you!

Hello prospective Michigan students! Congratulations on coming this far–you have no idea how amazing you all are.
My name is DJ Heebner; I'm a sophomore in the honors program of the college of Literature, Science and the Arts. I'm majoring in Political Science and Economics, with a minor in International Studies. Although I looked at a lot of colleges in high school, I kind of always knew I would go to Michigan-it has been my dream school since I was young.
And it's turned out to be an incredible college experience. U-M is filled with opportunities–whether it be in academics, extracurriculars, or people to meet. Personally, I'm involved in College Democrats, a nonpartisan voter education group called Voice Your Vote, Alternative Spring Break, and Model United Nations; also I live in and adore the community in South Quad. In the three semesters I've been here, I've had some of the best times of my life with some of the best people I've ever met. There's a place for any and every kind of person here, and the students who come here truly are the leaders and the best. I hope to see you all in the fall-welcome to Michigan and Go Blue!

Congrats on your offer from Michigan! It is an exciting time for you – picking which college you will attend is one of the biggest decisions of your life!
When I was in your shoes – as a kid from Florida interested in medium sized schools in the Northeast – I had no intention of going to Michigan. Then I attended Campus Day; it was through this program that I realized what Michigan has to offer: elite academics, wonderful job placement, and a very active and social student body.
As a senior in the Business School I am very happy that I made the trip from Florida to go through the Campus Day program and see for myself what Michigan has to offer. I have a wonderful group of life-long friends, my dream job already set up, and the promise of many more great time to be had. I Hope that you decide to make the same trip so that you can make a more informed decision about which college you decide to attend!

My name is Nick Kuneman and I am currently a senior pursuing a dual degree in finance at the Ross School of Business and Arabic & Islamic Studies in the college of Literature, Science, and the Arts. I grew up in Northville, Michigan, which is only twenty miles from Ann Arbor and coming here has fulfilled a lifelong goal. Here at the University of Michigan I have been involved in multicultural activities, the Greek system, several business school clubs and volunteering programs.
Every student who attends the University of Michigan will experience the Michigan difference. The summer of 2006, I was awarded a Critical Language Scholarship from the US State Department. This scholarship paid for me to study Arabic the entire summer in Yemen, an opportunity I received because I was a Michigan wolverine. I was informed of this scholarship through the International Institute on campus and recommended for it by my professors.
Whatever you want to study, you will find countless opportunities to enrich it here at the University of Michigan.
Congratulations on your acceptance, and remember, it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!

What's up!? My name is Jon Marks and I'm a senior in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. I feel like it was only yesterday when I received my letter of acceptance and signed up for Campus Day, not knowing what to expect. Driving up on the way from the north suburbs of Chicago, I had literally no idea what was going to happen. Would I think the campus was too big? Would I be impressed, or think that Michigan was just another college? Should I be scared of what was to come? I can tell you right now: it took ten minutes of participating in Campus Day to turn my views around. And look where I am today. I can't imagine going anywhere else on the planet for college.
Michigan is amazing because of all of the opportunities you have before you. You can join a club for just about anything – from underwater basket weaving to feeding squirrels on the diag. You can rush a fraternity or sorority, which is what I did, and I'm currently the president of my fraternity and have been a previous brotherhood chair, Comedy Night chair, and Treasurer. It's allowing me to see the world through the eyes of something I never imagined. There are clubs for community service, IM sports, meeting other people, and doing just about anything. And then there are the classes. Your professors may be the top professors in the world, and you will walk out of class everyday feeling more and more educated. You may have a professor that is doing research on a life-changing subject, wrote the textbook you're using in class, or even just loves to play in a band. I know that I love every class that I'm in because of how great the professors and Graduate Student Instructors are.
It's no secret that Michigan is the greatest place in the world to go to college. If you don't believe me, just wait until the first time you hear Hail to the Victors. It's contagious. No matter when, where, or how, if that song is played, Michigan students throw their fists in the air and Hail! (Seriously... the bells of the Burton Memorial Tower even play it.) Congratulations on your acceptance, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Campus Day 2009. Go Blue!

I know you think that you are facing one of the hardest decisions you will ever have to make. However, the choice to come to the University of Michigan is actually quite simple and fail-proof. My past three and a half years here have been nothing short of sheer bliss and I am convinced that no one has experienced true happiness until they are a Michigan Wolverine.
Every day I walk through campus and feel as if my life is a college brochure: the students around me are alive with school spirit, the surroundings are beautiful, and my classes and professors are engaging. I rarely pass the diag without saying hello to someone I know, yet I rarely pass a day without being introduced to a new friend. The campus is continually vibrant with student group activity and the city of Ann Arbor provides endless possibilities for shopping, eating, and the arts. I can find a party on a Monday night and I can find a study partner on a Friday night. There is absolutely nothing that this school lacks and to choose another school would be downright risky! No matter who you are, there is a place for you at Michigan. If you don't want to make this decision, let me make it for you: Welcome to Michigan and Go Blue!

Hi there all potential wolverines!
First, fantastic job getting into the University of Michigan. My name is Sid Mitra and I am originally from Cedar Falls, Iowa. I am an undecided sophomore in the college of Literature, Science, and Arts. My high school graduating class was 36 people, so I was a little worried when I came to this school due to its immense size. I did not know a single person coming into my freshman year, however this quickly changed. This is one of the best things about Michigan: there are so many intelligent and diverse students that it would be impossible to not find great friends almost immediately.
The opportunities at Michigan are simply endless in all aspects. I played spoons with one of the most renowned psychology professors in the country, after I had eaten at his house. I watch the team with the most wins all time in college football history in person eight times a year. I can also join as many groups on campus simply by showing up to a meeting or join hall council for the simple reason of getting pizza for that residence hall's dining area, and end up being head of dining in the entire res hall. There is no limit to what you can do at this amazing school, and I fully expect each and every one of you to take advantage of this come next fall. Congratulations; have a great senior year, and GO BLUE!

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Michigan! I hope you're all already excited to be a Wolverine and enjoy the wonderful benefits the school and campus life have to offer.
My name is Frank Moran and I am currently a freshman (represent!) here at U-M in the college of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and I'm originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan. I hope to attend the Stephen M. Ross School of Business here at U-M next year, and eventually pursue a career in the field of business or law.
Yes, I may be a newcomer here to the university, but I was immediately able to identify with the wonderful atmosphere here. There is an endless amount of clubs and organizations to get involved in, as well as a wide range of people to meet and socialize with. I've already gotten involved in my Hall Council at Oxford Housing, the Residence Halls Association, Campus Day, and the Greek Community. My number one rule of thumb when transitioning to a larger university: don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone - that's where you'll create the most amazing memories of your scholastic and social careers.
I hope you're all ready to dive into the college life! You're entering one of the most prestigious, most spirited, and most FUN universities you'll ever have the opportunity of attending. Don't feel intimidated by the size or scope of U-M - university life is all what you make it out to be. It's up to you to seize opportunities and fulfill your potential!
Once again, congratulations on being accepted into our Michigan family! Hail to the Victors, baby! GO BLUE!

There is no place like Ann Arbor, Michigan. There is no school like the University of Michigan, and there are few greater honors than being asked to join the ranks of the Wolverines.
Whether you are a huge sports fan, a future Nobel Prize winner, an independent movie guru, a farmer from California or a city dweller from Queens, you will find Ann Arbor to be an exciting, comfortable and inspirational place to live.
For me, it was a huge transition to move to Ann Arbor from Santa Rosa, California. I left my friends and family behind to embark on a new journey where I would have to reestablish myself in a completely new community. Now, after attending U-M for more than three years, I can't imagine how much I would have missed had I not chosen to be a Wolverine.
It is a school filled with the greatest balance of academic, social and athletic opportunities that exist. Classes are demanding yet motivating and intellectually stimulating. Concerts, lectures, plays, dance shows and almost anything you can imagine are abundant and definitely keep life fun and interesting. And, for about seven Saturdays every fall, U-M drops everything and commits itself to supporting the winningest and most legendary football program to ever exist.
In addition, the University of Michigan serves as a starting point where you can take your experiences and career anywhere you'd like. Programs like the Global Intercultural Experience for Undergraduates and the Center for International and Comparative Studies have enabled me to travel across the globe to places such as Ethiopia, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru and gain an understanding of the key issues that plague our world and the greatness that exists in every society. Additionally, the Career Center and Academic Services on campus have provided support and constructive criticism that have helped me to obtain internships during each summer in college.
Congratulations on your admission to U-M! Whether you choose to join the Michigan family or not you owe it to yourself to check out Ann Arbor and join us for Campus Day this spring! I look forward to meeting you and to singing "The Victors" with you next fall! Go Blue!!

My personal experience of choosing the right college for me was difficult. Yet upon visiting the University of Michigan, I felt an immediate sense of belonging. The varied experiences this campus provides to its students are truly amazing. I am sampling many aspects of U-M life, whether it is through the diverse academic classes I take, the various clubs and organizations, including Greek life, the U-M Bass Fishing team, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have found my niche here at the University of Michigan, through all the various opportunities this campus provides. I feel very proud to be a part of this wonderful community, which I call my home.
Congratulations on your admission to what I have found to be an extraordinary university. This institution is a great place to continue your education and a great place to call your home. I hope that you enjoy your campus visit and perhaps even realize that your perfect fit is here, at the University of Michigan. Again, congratulations, and GO BLUE!

Welcome!
My name is Amy Ostrowski, and this is my third year serving as a Campus Day Leader. I'm a junior in LSA studying Communication Studies, and possibly double majoring or minoring in Art History or Cultural Anthropology. I'm already embarking on my internship search for next summer (!) and hoping to do something marketing-, advertising-, or business-related (I interned this past summer at an art museum in New York City).
Something I love about the university is the incredible amount of opportunities for involvement. Besides Campus Day, I'm a member and philanthropy chair of a pre-professional business fraternity; a brand ambassador for Adidas (we're helping to launch the new football jersey); a children's book illustrator for the We Read Program; and a project team member for a couple of university-based marketing campaigns. I was also previously involved in Dance Marathon and Michigan Running Club.
Some additional things I love are anything coffee-related, shopping, visiting art museums, and The Office. And even though I've never been the biggest football fan, it's still great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Hi everyone, and congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Michigan! My name is Todd, and I'm from Williamsville, NY, a suburb just outside of Buffalo. I'm also in the Honors Program through the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and I am planning to apply to the Ross School of Business BBA program this year.
If I can give you one piece of advice during your college search, it would be to visit every single college you have an interest in. Campus Day honestly convinced me to become a Wolverine, and I think it will do the same for you. Some people say that you can just "get a feeling" when you visit a campus, but I didn't think that could be possible. I had never been more wrong. Stepping onto the Michigan campus during my Campus Day, I could imagine myself walking to class, meeting new people, and getting involved with everything that the University of Michigan had to offer.
Being the only person from my high school to come to Michigan, I was a bit apprehensive about going to such a large university. The best thing about Michigan is that you can make the large campus small while still experiencing the resources and opportunities that a large research university has to offer. I made Michigan my own by joining a professional business fraternity (Phi Chi Theta), getting involved in South Quad Hall Council, becoming an intern for the Michigan Student Assembly, and becoming a Campus Day leader. In the months that I have been here, I could never imagine going anywhere else.
I hope I see you at Campus Day and I can't wait for you to join the Leaders and Best! GO BLUE!

Hello and congrats! I am sure that all of you have worked very hard to get to this point and you should be very proud.
My name is Caitlyn Sharrow and I am in my second year here at the University. When I graduated from high school there were about 150 students in my class and I was one of the few going to the University of Michigan. The sheer size of the university and Ann Arbor itself was intimidating but also quite exciting. Not only do you meet great people from all around the world but you also have the ability to create as many small communities as you want. I decided that I wanted to continue doing community service work so I joined Michigan Community Scholars which is one of our Michigan Learning Communities. I also loved planning and organizing social events which resulted in involvement with my Hall Council.
Overall the experiences that I had in my first year were some of the best of my education. I am looking forward to the next three years here at the university. I am also looking forward to sharing with you the experience of being an a-maize-ing wolverine!

First things first – GO BLUE! Upon being admitted to U of M, you've gotta realize the incredible amount of spirit that everyone has here, it truly defines the environment on campus. Now, with that taken care of, congrats on your admission! Being admitted to Michigan is one heck of an accomplishment.
I hail from a large high school in Denver, Colorado, so getting used to Michigan's size wasn't all that big of an issue for me. Ironically enough, I hadn't considered U of M in my college search until my counselor recommended it to me, seeing as it offered everything I was looking for in a college: a large student body with plenty of school spirit, a rigorous academic reputation, and an infinite number of current students and alumni that can all attest that they absolutely loved their time here. The ultimate deciding factor in my decision was actually visiting campus through the Campus Day program- I hope Campus Day will be as helpful for you as it was for me!
I'm interested in political and environmental science but by no means am I tailoring my classes to specifically fit those areas of study; I'm studying under the philosophy of taking advantage of as much as I can while I have the opportunity to do so.
I've quickly found that getting involved outside of class is fundamental to a great college experience. Joining a fraternity, playing intramural sports, and playing in Groove, a campus group that mirrors Broadway's "Stomp," have already added so much to my experiences here.
Congratulations again on your admittance to Michigan. Through hard work, extracurricular involvement, and meeting all kinds of people, you'll find that, as we cheer at our football games, "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!"

My name is Gregory Spindell and I am a senior concentrating in Actuarial Mathematics. I am part of the Greek system and have participated in student government. Recently, I have been elected to be the President of the Student Actuaries at Michigan; which is one out of over a thousand student groups here on campus.
Now that I am doing campus day, I will be able to show accepted students that Michigan is the best choice for every type of student. Our campus has so much to offer and we truly are the leaders and best in all aspects of the college experience.

First and foremost, congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Michigan. It means that all your hard work over these last few years has paid off. Now you have to opportunity to be one of the leaders and best!
My name is Merrick Stone. I hail from Atlantic Beach, New York, just outside of New York City. I am a sophomore in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts studying political science and screen arts and culture. Some of the activities I participate in are K-grams, Model UN and WOLV-TV.
I can honestly say I would not be here had it not been for Campus Day. I attended Campus Day on a whim and within a week of returning home from Ann Arbor knew where I would be attending school the following year. My indecision as to what I wanted to study was a key factor in deciding to attend the U of M. The university allows for an incredible amount of flexibility. That aside, the atmosphere of living and studying in Ann Arbor sets the University of Michigan apart from other universities of the same, high caliber. With over a thousand student organizations, live performances and sporting events, there is never a dull moment. While little can top football Saturdays in the Big House, I love Michigan hockey.
So if you get a chance, check out a game at Yost Ice Arena. The student section at Yost is the epitome of school spirit.
After investigating all the schools I had been accepted to senior year, the University of Michigan was, and remains to be, the only school from which every student I have met who has attended, loves it. Not just likes it, loves it. Once you get a taste for life at U-M it is easy to see why. The students here bleed maize and blue.
What makes this university so unique is the fact that you are surrounded by constant reminders of why "It's great to be a Michigan wolverine!"
Hail to the Victors! GO BLUE!

Hi and congratulations on your acceptance to this AMAZING community!
My name is Kyle Valentine and I'm a small town boy from the New Hampshire coast. Obviously this made me extremely nervous about signing up for a school as big as the University of Michigan. My mother's pleas to stay at one of the smaller universities close to home didn't help. But all these fears melted away when I got to campus my freshman year.
Michigan is a lot more than just a school; it's an incredible community of the most excellent students in the country. I came looking for the best engineering education in the country, but what I found was much more valuable. The Michigan community is an amazing to be a part of. This place offers infinite opportunities to get involved in almost any group you can imagine. From a HUGE student government to every kind of IM sport to endless chances to help your community – it's hard to believe students find the time, but we do.
The university has countless social outlets as well from football Saturdays to a thriving Greek system to an amazing residence hall system that begins shrinking this place down for you from day one.
For me, one of my favorite finds has been the undergraduate library where I've bonded studying with other wolverines in all of my classes. This may sound strange but you'll be amazed at how the seemingly ordinary can surprise you at place as special as this one. Go Blue!

Hey everybody!! My name is Caitlin and I am a sophomore in the College of Engineering, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I'm from a small town right outside of Burlington, Vermont. I was a little apprehensive about coming to the University of Michigan because of its size and because it is so far from my home. After all, there are six times as many students at this school as there were people in my hometown!
Once I got to campus, however, I realized that the college community was not very different from home. Sure, there are far more people here, but it was not difficult for me to find activities I enjoy and people with similar interests. I am involved with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), club sports and various jobs within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, including this one!! I encourage you all to seek out activities that you enjoy to help create your own community within the larger university. Whatever your interests are, you will be able to find ways to enrich them at U of M. Good luck with the rest of your admissions decisions and GO BLUE!!!!

Hi there and congratulations on your acceptance! I remember last year being in the exact position you are right now – relieved from the waiting process of decisions being finally over, but at the same time stressed over picking where you want to go for the next four years of your life. Every senior in high school wants to find the school that they fall in love with and know in their hearts is meant for them. I didn't have one of those and I began to worry that there wouldn't be a school for me – until U of M. When I first got accepted to Michigan, I knew very little about it, it was just another school of the ten I applied to. I came to Campus Day, and I found my soul mate. It was absolutely perfect – a great campus, great academics, great resources, great opportunities and diverse, great people – and I figured this all out just simply from spending one day on campus.
So I accepted, and came to the University of Michigan in late August of 2006. Of course I had pre-college jitters when I first arrived but after one day at the University, my jitters were gone and I could not wait to get the school year started. My only doubt about this school was immediately erased the first football game and from then on, there is no doubt in my mind that this is where I belong. This university is extremely large, and you may think to yourself – where do I fit in? That's the beauty of it all; the University offers you everything and anything imaginable. I pledged a business fraternity, Phi Chi Theta, and am now Secretary on the Executive Board. I joined Dance Marathon, and got a job in the admissions office. In a nutshell, Michigan really comes full circle in terms of a beautiful campus, excellent academic courses available to everybody, a diverse community, an enriched surrounding city (I love love love Ann Arbor), a wide array of opportunities to all, an ideal college lifestyle, and infinite amounts of school spirit – GO BLUE!

Hey everybody, I'd like to congratulate you for reading this far down on the Campus Day bios. I think it's this dedication and perseverance that was one of the deciding factors on your admission into U-M.
Anyways, I'm Dave, and this will be my senior year at Michigan. I graduated from Salem High School (Go Rocks!) in Canton, MI in 2005. Yes, I do know that that makes me old, so please try not to rub it in that you're going to be part of the class of 2009. I'm an Industrial Engineer, and if you have half an hour, I can attempt to explain to you what exactly I do.
Why exactly did I come to Michigan? I don't think I really know one factor that put U-M over the top. Michigan has great academics all across the board, as well as strong athletic teams (most of the time), beautiful campus, and over a thousand extracurricular activities. I've tried to experience as much as I could, from attending every football game to building houses in Habitat for Humanity, and from becoming a Vice President in student government to meeting prospective freshmen for Campus Day. I've loved my time at Michigan, and I hope that you decide to come to see why it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

I am in love with the University of Michigan. There is no other school where you can find such genuine, overwhelming school spirit right alongside some of the highest caliber academics in the world. The students at Michigan are incredibly intelligent and motivated, but they also understand the importance of balance and know how to have a good time.
I am from a small town outside of Boston with fewer residents than there are undergraduates here, so – initially – the size of this school was definitely a concern. I quickly learned that getting involved and staying connected is an easy way to make this university and campus work for me. From becoming a move in maker at my residence hall, to rushing a sorority my 1st semester, I took advantage of the many opportunities to meet and work with other students. These days, I can never walk to class without saying hi to at least one person I know!
There are so many student organizations to choose from that it is truly impossible to not find something that interests you. Currently, I am the President of LSA Student Government, I serve on the executive committee of an environmental group called Green Greeks, and I am very active in Hillel.
While extracurriculars are a great part of the experience at Michigan, I never disconnect from the real reason that I am here. My classes and professors here have been challenging and stimulating. I have been pushed to explore new perspectives and challenge my ideas. Learning is a dialogue at this school – you can learn a lot from talking to your professors and from listening to your classmates – so take the time to open yourself up and take it all in.
The longer I am here, the more I love everything about the University of Michigan. With so much and so many things to offer you, I am sure that you too will love your experience at Michigan. Congratulations again on your acceptance to this prestigious school and as always, GO BLUE!!!
