Step by Step Instructions for Creating a Friend Account
- Go to Wolverine Access.
- Click on the New & Prospective Student Business link.
- To create a Friend Account Login ID and password, click the “Create One Now” link under the “Need a Login ID” on the right hand side.
- Click on “Others” to create a Friend guest account.
- Click on “How to Set Up a Friend Account.”
- Click on https://friend.weblogin.umich.edu/friend/.
- Enter an email address to be used for your Friend login ID. Click the “Request” button.
- As per the directions on the confirmation page, check for new email to the address you provided. Close this page.
- Open the email message with the subject “Your U-M Friend Account Request.”
- Click on the “Create Friend Account” link within the email.
- Enter your email address and an appropriate password. Re-type your password for confirmation, and then click the “Set Password” button.
- A Friend Account Created confirmation page will come up. In addition, you will receive a second email confirming the creation of a Friend Account.
- Navigate to Wolverine Access and click on the New & Prospective Student Business link again. Enter your Friend e-mail address for the Login ID and your password.
- Enter the requested information in the Identity Verification page. This is a one-time authentication.
- Click the Sign Out link on the Identity Verification page at the top right menu bar. You will need to close your browser and then open it back up to navigate to Wolverine Access and log in to the New & Prospective Student Business page with your newly created Friend Account Login ID and password.
