Admitted Freshmen

Welcome!

We realize that this is a time where you'll be making many important decisions about your future, and we want you to know that we are here to help you with any questions or concerns that you may have. We hope that this helps you to determine that the University of Michigan is the right place for you! We have included some helpful links to guide you through the next steps in your enrollment process.

  1. Tell us your plans as soon as you know, but no later than the enrollment deposit deadline (May 1 for Fall term). The non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit secures your place in the class.
  2. Come see what the University has to offer first-hand! Campus Day for is an opportunity for you to come visit the University, meet other admitted students, talk with current students and professors and answer all those last minute questions that you may have.
  3. Get your uniqname! Once you’ve paid your enrollment deposit, you’ll want access to everything U-M has to offer. Your University of Michigan "uniqname" is your key to it all. Visit the uniqname website with your OTID (One-Time ID) in hand, and get started!
  4. Wonder where you’ll be living? You need that new uniqname to be able to apply online to live in a residence hall. First-year students who have paid their University enrollment deposit will be able to access an online residence hall application, and if the application is submitted by the deadline provided with the application, these students will be eligible to participate in a residence hall lottery. The lottery determines the priority order for residence hall assignments. No priority is attached to early payment of the University enrollment deposit. Students who pay the enrollment deposit after the deadline will be notified to access the online application one to two weeks after payment has been received by the University; applications in this group are assigned on a date-received basis. Questions? Check with University Housing.
  5. If you wish to receive Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate credit, make sure that exam results have been submitted to our office by the testing agencies.

Congratulations and GO BLUE!
